Executive Director
A Board Certified physician with over 20 years of clinical experience and passion for treating substance abuse clients. She holds specialty training is opioid addiction with Suboxone treatment. Dr. Kuster is licensed through Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration Center (SAMHS/CSAT).
Julee Sarto
Treasurer
Julee is a native of Ludington and a graduate of Ludington High School. She received her Bachelor of Arts at Hope College in 1992 and began her career in the financial services industry with a large regional firm in Detroit, MI. In 2000 Julee moved back to the Ludington community and has been a financial advisor and active community member since. Julee is involved in many non profit and service organizations but has a special dedication to Connexion Point. Addiction has reached her family personally and the community impact has been very difficult to witness. The work that Connexion Point does for families is invaluable and she is honored to be a part of such a wonderful organization. Julee and her husband Dan have 6 wonderful kids together.
Jackie Steckel
Secretary
Jackie is the Assistant to the City Manager for the City of Ludington and has been employed with the City for the past 32 years. She is a Ludington native and lived in the community all her life. She served on the Ludington Board of Education for 6 years and has been and continues to be very active by volunteering her time and organizational skills for various special projects and events. Jackie has a family member who is an opioid addict and has personally experienced and understands the difficulties of dealing with substance abuse.
Mark Boon
Mark Boon is a life-long resident of Ludington and is well-known in the community for his compassion, willingness to help others, particularly at-risk kids and families. Mark has been employed by the Ludington School District since 1972. He started his career as a Speech & Health Teacher and had several different roles during his employment including Attendance, High School Principal and a Driver’s Training Instructor for 45 years. Mark retired in 2009 and was rehired by the School District to work with At-Risk Students and is a Community Service Supervisor for the Mason County Juvenile Court. Mark has spent and continues to spend countless hours working with at-risk kids in community and he has has a positive impact on them as a result.
Julie Chappel
Julie Chappel is a lifelong resident of Ludington, Michigan. She is married to Roger Chappel and has two adult children and two granddaughters. Julie retired from the Ludington Police Department in 2010. She volunteers for numerous community events and at her church. She and her husband enjoy spending time outdoors riding bikes, kayaking or following their granddaughters sports activities.
Beth Kirby
Vice President
Beth Kirby is a native of Ludington, Michigan. She is married to Rich Kirby and together they have 3 college-age children. Beth has been a teacher in the Ludington Area School District for over 27 years. She currently teaches special education at a kindergarten through second grade school.
Anja Holland
Anja Holland was born and raised in Manistee, MI. She is a graduate of West Shore Community College and currently a Psychology and Addiction Counseling student at Cornerstone University. She has had addiction impact her family and seen the strength of recovery. She works with Connexion Point and the local county jails to improve diversion opportunities for those impacted by the justice system. Anja says that the Connexion Point Members are the heart and soul of the program, constantly showing their support, care, and dedication to the organization.
